Workforce e-maturity – characteristics and development

Author: Neil Adam
Naace were commissioned by Becta to undertake research during February and March 2007 into the key characteristics and the development of e-maturity in the school workforce. This report describes the outcomes of this work.
Becta commissioned Naace in March 2007 to do some work around the idea of "e-maturity". The report and addendum (linked below) are the main outcomes of this research. This work was part of on-going projects within Becta relating to how to define and promote e-maturity, as part of the Workforce theme within the wider Harnessing Technology agenda. Becta have not endorsed the report but have said that:

"The content of this report will become part of our knowledge base for taking forward our work on personalisation, within the Harnessing Technology strategy. In progressing this work, we will be seeking evidence based on larger samples, although we accept that sampling is as much about quality as quantity. In addition, we will be further testing our model of work-force e-maturity, which exhibits some different characteristics from the model in the report."

The articles linked below contain the text of the main report (but not its appendices) and a subsequent addendum based on further research on accreditations. The accompanying graphics and appendices can be found in the full documents, which can be downloaded below.
