Children, Schools and Families Committee

The Children, Schools and Families Committee is appointed by the House of Commons to examine the administration, expenditure and policy of the Department for Children, Schools and Families and also covers the work of non-departmental public bodies including Ofsted.
The Inquiry will consider:

• the principle of whether there should be a National Curriculum;
• how the fitness-for-purpose of the National Curriculum might be improved;
• the management of the National Curriculum and its articulation with other policies and strategies with which schools must work.
