Here is Naace's response.

Members of Naace are actively involved in developing policy, exploring the potential of new technologies, reviewing the impact of initiatives and improving learning and teaching through the appropriate use of ICT. Consultations and 'Think tanks' lead to informed policy position papers and other published outcomes.

The Classroom Quality Standards (CQS) provide a universal, classroom level, self-evaluation tool to support schools in improving provision for their more able, gifted and talented pupils. http://ygt.dcsf.gov.uk/LibraryResources.aspx?libraryId=12
Following this consultation, revised versions will be provided on CD-ROMs and made available free to all schools. Here is Naace's response.

Naace works closely with DCFS, Becta, QCA, Ofsted and other key organisations involved with 'advancing education through ICT'. Responses are sought from Members to inform consultations originating from these bodies.

Members are invited to comment on the strategic objectives proposed for this influential body.

As part of its role in maintaining an up-to-date view of issues relating to ICT in education, Naace holds Think tanks. Following discussion and debate with a range of well-informed practitioners, Naace publishes outcomes, reports and summary information.

The DfES 'Every Child Matters' agenda has had far reaching consequences for the structure and agreed aims of education, seen in its widest sense. In April 2006 Naace convened a "think tank", sponsored by DfES, to bring together the main agencies involved in ICT in education with Naace members to debate the issues surrounding the potential role of ICT and provide recommendations on how best to support the use of technology to improve outcomes for children and young people.

This report summarises the issues raised at the Think Tank and subsequent discussion in Naace and sets out a range of recommendations for consideration by DfES, other agencies and the ICT community.

Following announcements in early January 2007 about changes to the status of the KS3 online ICT test, Naace sought responses of its members and collated their views to inform discussions with Ministers.

Annex to the main ECM Think Tank report from 5 April 2006: reflections by invited speakers on the interrelationship between the ECM agenda and other national initiatives and challenges, especially with regard to ICT.
