Outcome paper from joint e-learning Think tankIn 2006 Naace and QCA held a joint Think tank to try to get to grips with what we really mean by the term 'e-learning'. Like quite a few other e-words that have sprung up in the last year or so, we cannot assume that everyone will use the term in the same way. Does the 'e' just mean electronic, as in 'email', or something more profound?
The paper that resulted was an amalgamation of specialist inputs from some key figures in the ICT world and notes arising from the discussions of a significant group of ICT-in-education specialists. Naacetalk contributors also provided additional insights.
The commentary that resulted, plus the key questions for policy makers that lie within the paper, will be essential reading for those involved with planning for 'Transforming Learning', or in considering necessary reforms to how e-learning is assessed. In this respect we anticipate that the paper will be helpful to those Naace Members and others with a professional interest in 'Building Schools for the Future', or the successful introduction of Learning Platforms into schools.
