Use of weblogs and other tools to support student teachers’ use of reflective journals

This article will explore the use of blogs and other tools to support student teachers in writing reflective journals. The main context for this is the school (or college) experience of trainee teachers on the one year secondary PGCE. Blogs are also used in the first year professional studies module in the School of Education's BA Joint Honours programme. The approach and lessons learned are equally applicable to students on other programmes, and at other levels.

Shaun Knight in the Naace 'hot-seat': September 2008

For the September 'hotseat' we welcome Shaun Knight who has worked for Manchester City Council throughout his career both as a teacher and as an adviser across the city in primary, secondary and special schools. Manchester has recently undergone a restructuring programme and Shaun currently works as a Learning Strategy Officer with schools in the central district of the city.

Shaun will be live in the hotseat from 4-5pm on Wednesday 17th and Wednesday 24th September. Please leave questions for Shaun before during and after the live sessions.
