Direct2U email service and lesson plansThe Direct2U service was a weekly email service produced by Becta in partnership with Naace. The service was for primary teachers and offered lesson plans featuring ICT in activities based on six subject strands. The service is discontinued but you can view the lesson plans in this archive.
Direct2U activitiesThis large collection of lesson plans, developed in partnership with Becta during 2005 - 2006, may be browsed in the Naace archive by subject or year group. The Direct2U activities all make use of ICT to support teaching and learning across the curriculum in the primary school.Browse to the activity that interests you, and select the title link to download a plain text (.rtf) file. Each Direct2U activity sheet follows the same format: Introduction Equipment Lesson plan Why are we using ICT? References, including links to useful websites Where do we go next? Differentiating the activity Reflecting on their work The lesson plans cover a wide range of topics including manipulating text, cloze activities, writing poems, designing posters, research using websites, browsing online dictionaries, sorting and classification activities, number activities, shape and space, exploring databases, materials, healthy eating, science investigations, electricity and magnetism, food chains, Victorians, World War, Romans, Ancient Egypt, Vikings, people and place, maps, weather, coasts, rivers and mountains, music, MFL, manipulating images, exploring signs and symbols. As well as activities directly linked to the curriculum, there are puzzles, strategic games, problem-solving activities, summer specials and Christmas specials. A wide range of ICT resources is also used in the activities including email, word processors, spreadsheets, presentation software, multimedia applications, desktop publishing software, digital cameras, logo, printers, image-handling software, control technology . . .
