Developing ICT Capability in Primary Schools
This course is designed for LA advisers and consultants, with responsibility for ICT in the primary phase.

It is also relevant to primary school senior leaders and subject leaders.

An important course for all schools with primary age pupils.


Aims of the course

* Engage delegates with an extended version of the ICT assessing progress materials which originated in the Secondary Strategy, appropriate for primary schools.
* Show how to tailor these generic materials to the specifics of schools' schemes of work for ICT.
* Explain how to plan and undertake periodic (termly) assessments.
* Develop an approach to target setting.

The day also provided opportunities to discuss and plan cascade arrangements and direct working in schools.

A range of paper based and online tools were available - alongside online materials throughout the day.
