Naace has a key role in the development and delivery of the ICT Mark working with our partner, the awarding body, Becta. The ICT Mark is an accreditation for schools who have reached nationally agreed levels within the Becta self-review framework.

For some time there has been a need to encourage and support teachers aspiring to become or recently appointed as ICT co-ordinators. Martyn Wilson and Janet Roberts of Hampshire County Council have worked with Naace and Nottingham Trent University (NTU) to develop a course aimed at new and aspiring ICT coordinators.

This short article aims to highlight the background, key features and current vision of the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) project at Ranvilles Infant School. Welcome to the Spring 2010 issue of Advancing Education in which we bring you Naace's draft guidance on Securing Innovation under BSF Managed Service Contracts, a critique of current approaches to research on the impact of ICT in education, a paper demonstrating exactly why learning platforms are so important when the weather turns nasty and a fascinating paper on children using communications technologies.
