Naace Annual Strategic Conference; a roaring success!

Delegates enjoyed an inspiring conference with phenomenally challenging keynotes and breakout sessions from a cast of leaders in the field of ICT in Education. From Martha Lane Fox's introductory keynote to 'Race Online for 2012' through to Michael Furdyk's fast paced consideration of how 'Digital Kids are Changing the World', with numerous high points from Keri Facer, Lord David Puttnam and so many more in between - we humbly declare this year's conference a roaring success!

Parental Engagement and Online Reporting Think Tank - Bookings are open - Tuesday 30th March 2010 - London - another great Naace Event!

Home access and on-line reporting is rapidly becoming a ubiquitous part of mainstream education. But what tools are needed and for what purposes?

This Think Tank, sponsored by Becta, will consider what uses of ICT will have the most impact on parental engagement with children's learning and how these uses can be incorporated into schools' approach to online reporting.

Certified Naace Professional Scheme - ICT in Education

This scheme, launched at the Naace Strategic Conference 2010, is a major new initiative, which is designed for people who have a leadership role in advancing education through ICT. This will apply to:

Advisers and consultants in Local Authorities, independent providers or commercial organisations
School-based strategic leaders of ICT
School-based subject leaders of ICT.

It is designed to promote and recognise excellent practice in initiating and leading ICT developments in education. An invitation has been issued to all Naace Members to engage in the pilot scheme - register your interest now - only forty candidates can be included in this initial scheme.

Spring 2010 issue of Advancing Education

The Spring 2010 issue of Advancing Education is now available.

We are delighted to bring you Naace's draft guidance on Securing Innovation under BSF Managed Service Contracts, a critique of current approaches to research on the impact of ICT in education, a paper demonstrating exactly why learning platforms are so important when the weather turns nasty and a fascinating paper on children using communications technologies. The Naace stand was a busy place for BETT 2010. Our new location at stand J42, in the Next Generation Learning area, was the meeting place for Naace members, colleagues interested in learning more about our organisation and over 80 schools who attended presentations for the prestigious ICT Mark. Highlights of the week included the launch of our new International Technology in Education Mark - www.naace.co.uk/item, Naace Connect, details below, and the launch of www.ictcpd4free.co.uk.

Naace Connect! - FIRST ever issue now available

Naace Connect is a new and exciting online video magazine for Naace members and others interested in educational ICT. Each programme is approximately half an hour in length and divided into 5 minute episodes which include interviews with practitioners, key stakeholders and thinkers in educational ICT that meets the aims of the association. BSF and Innovation - friends or enemies?

On 4 December 2009, a Naace think tank took place - the theme was "Safeguarding ICT innovation under BSF Managed Service Contracts". As part of the build up to this event, we invited members to share their ideas, experiences and reflections. You are still able to share your views with us - in the Naace CPD area you will find a Moodle with the same title as the think tank. It contains six questions, and we hope you will respond to any or all of them online.
