Mind the digital skills gap

A recent Ipsos Mori study commissioned by BT spells good news for primary computing in the UK. After in-depth research with 400 schools, we’ve seen that a large majority of primary teachers (81% per cent) now feel confident teaching the computing curriculum. Dig a little deeper into the research however, and it’s clear there’s still work to be done for today’s primary pupils to grow up being truly tech literate.

Primary school leads the way on parental engagement

Whilst the first video submission focuses on the role technology has played in empowering pupils, this new submission shows how the school has gone on to use technology to build a powerful learning community that engages all stakeholders in pupils' learning experiences. These go beyond the use of technology to push information to parents, and involve parents in gathering assessment evidence, thus demonstrating the value placed on learning beyond the classroom walls.

School wins high praise

There was some great news for Denbigh High School this week- the school has been showered in praise from the judges as they were awarded 'Feature school' status for their Third Millennium Learning Award submission. The school says of itself: 'Denbigh is a thriving and happy learning community where expectations and standards are very high.' The judges did not disagree.
