Points to note in the Award submission video
The school’s parent video is very focussed on the use of technology, however by looking closely at the commentary it is possible to discern the range of learning opportunities that are offered to pupils. The range of technology is vast from games consoles used in an educational setting to iPads, all to facilitate and encourage learning. The use of the alien characters and a narrow screen area do not always help the viewer to appreciate the wealth of learning opportunities. The technology is well integrated into the schools life and through the learning platform extends into the home so that parents and pupils can take part. The learning platform allows pupils to blog and to write for different audiences which is always challenging for all concerned – but very rewarding. The children speak well and are enjoying their learning.
